The class teacher is the first point of contact for parents who think their child has developed additional needs. Following this the class teacher will liaise with the Special Needs Coordinator (SENCO) for further advice and guidance. However more frequently the class teacher will identify children with additional needs based on ongoing assessments and observations in class. A meeting maybe arranged with parents/carers if it is felt supplementary assessments or investigations are required.
