Governors

  • Mr Paul Jenkins

    Chair of Governors and Community

My name is Paul Jenkins. I am 63 years old. Married with one daughter and I live in Parkgate, Neston.

I was involved in education for 36 years. Seventeen years as a headteacher and five in educational advisory work. I did a variety of support, from working with schools on a daily basis supporting the senior management team and, at times, taking over schools to develop action plans and work with HMI to bring about positive changes, I have provided financial training for headteachers and governors as the financial representatives for Cheshire Local Authority.

Since retiring I have been Chairman of Neston County Cricket Development Group. We have successfully built a two story extension which has enabled the club to increase income streams which is allowing us to develop the sports sections and bring sustainability to the club. This involved applying for a variety of grants, working with a number of sporting agencies, including local government and developing a business plan.

I am a member of the Northern Lights Charity. We fund raise for seriously ill children and we take them to Lapland for an experience of a lifetime.

For the last five years I have been a governor/chair of governors at Wolverham Primary School Ellesmere Port. This school is in a socially deprived area with numerous challenges to both the school and community but in a recent OFSTED the school was graded as outstanding.

During the five years leading up to OFSTED we as governors put together an action plan to develop our knowledge and skills to enable us to challenge the Senior Management Team, to facilitate them to maximise the potential of all staff and children and to be confident in promoting the school with OFSTED. This is ongoing.

I enjoy trying to keep fit, traveling and watching sport.

  • Mrs Wendy Taylor

    LEA Governor

I volunteered to become a governor of Town Lane Infant School when asked by my Local Political Party.

Town Lane Infant School was my first school at the age of five and the opportunity to return as a governor was an opportunity to see how far the school has expanded not only in size but in every aspect of education.

I feel it is an honour to serve as a governor, I want to represent the community views and opinions linked to education in the area and I want to support the school management team to continuously improve the children’s access to a good education.

I am passionate about building community and seeing children and young people discover their full potential, to become active and positive contributors to society.

  • Mr Neil Diamond

    Parent Governor

I became a Parent Governor at the school in September 2017.

I’m a married dad of two children – my eldest daughter attended the school from 2012 to 2016, and my youngest daughter began Foundation 2 in 2017.

I am currently a Solicitor at a public authority, and the main part of my role involves conducting litigation on behalf of the authority in courts all across England & Wales.  I also sit as a legal advisor on the authority’s Complex Case Review Panel.  Prior to qualifying as a Solicitor, I spent 7 years working as a criminal investigator.

  • Jo Jury

    Parent Governor

My name is Jo, I was elected Parent Governor in July 2017. I am mum to my daughter who is at Town Lane, and I have a son who will (hopefully!) be going to Town Lane in a few years.

I have been working as a qualified Clinical Psychologist in a learning disability service for 3 years. I take a positive approach to wellbeing, and believe that compassion and empathy are the most important tools that I have in my possession.

Outside of work I love spending time with my partner and my children. We have just joined the National Trust and we love making up a picnic and taking ourselves off for a day out somewhere. Before I had my son I was a member of Katumba - a Liverpool samba drumming group who you might have seen parading round the streets or at festivals making lots of noise. I hope to rejoin them once my son is a little less reliant on me!
